Location - a particular place or position

Place - the physical and human aspects of a location

Toponym - the name of a place

Site - the description of the features of the place

Situation - the environmental conditions of the place

Human-Environment Interaction, Movement, and Region three ways that Geographers describe location. They use Human-Environment Interaction to tell what effect people have on the environment and what effect the environment has on people in that specific location. Movement deals with studies of population immigration, emigration, and distribution in the countries of the world. A Region is an area on the planet that is composed of places with a unifying characteristic.

I chose Location E for the settlement in 1650. I chose it because it is right next to a river with fresh water and it has a large amount of good farmland close by. For the settlement in 1830, I chose location A. I chose A because it right next to a freshwater swamp, a river, and a waterfall. For the settlement in 1880, the best location has to be C. C is the best because it is located on a good amount of coal and is the closest to the only good farm land on the settlement.
